Sony’s E3 press conference was a watershed moment for many gamers as the platform holder revealed the PS4′s hardware design and announced that the console will be out in the US and Europe this holiday season for $399/€399/£349.
Other revelations made during the briefing include the welcome news that the PS4 will fully support used games sales and won’t require a connection to the internet to play singleplayer/offline games as far as disc-based titles are concerned. Sony still needs to clarify if there are any sorts of restrictions or internet checks in relation to games downloaded from the PlayStation Store.
Existing and new PlayStation Plus members will be able to enjoy online play, cloud saves, early access to betas, and Instant Game Collection additions on PS4 at no extra cost to their subscriptions, meaning that you only have to pay once to earn free games and benefits across PS3, PS4 and PS Vita.
