New XBlaze Code: Embryo developer diary discusses design choicesWritten by: / / No Comments
Arc System Works’ BlazBlue spin-off XBlaze Code: Embryo was recently released in North America and to celebrate publisher Aksys Games has unveiled a new developer diary explaining some of the design decisions that influenced the direction of this visual novel. The game takes place 150 years before the events of BlazBlue and tells the story of a high school sophomore named Touya Kagari and his transformation from an unremarkable teenager to a key cog in a widescale tussle for control over the power responsible for the creation of the universe.
In the video below writer and executive producer Toshimichi Mori reveals how the young staff at the heart of XBlaze Code: Embryo’s creative process helped to give the game a “youthful feeling” that looks set to appeal to fans of both the BlazBlue series and visual novels in general.
XBlaze Code: Embryo is out now in North America for PS3 and PS Vita. A lengthy demo for the game is currently available to download from the US PlayStation Store. Head over here for El33tonline’s previous coverage of this stylish visual novel for more details.
