Still waiting for a new Prince of Persia and Beyond Good and Evil 2? “It could take some time…”

Do you still carry a torch for Beyond Good and Evil 2? Were you intrigued to hear about the possibility of a new Prince of Persia game made using the UbiArt Framework that powered Rayman Legends and Child of Light?

You’re not the only one, and while Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot isn’t going to extinguish your dreams just yet he has tempered fan expectations for when we might find out more.

Speaking to IGN during E3, Guillemot said regarding a new Prince of Persia and the next Beyond Good and Evil:

“We are not going to stop those properties. We are going to work on them. The teams are really looking at what we can come [up] with. I think you will really like what you see in the future. It could take some time to make sure we are really delivering what we want.”

What brought on the newfound interest in Beyond Good and Evil? During a recent livestream hosted by Rayman creator Michel Ancel, viewers were teased with a look at a piece of Beyond Good and Evil concept art featuring a differently designed version of protagonist Jade from the original game – this is what the audience saw:


Michel Ancel also teased that after working on Rayman Legends, it’s time to “make serious games now. Beyond Good & Evil [is] a good candidate for making a real, serious game now.”

Could we see Beyond Good and Evil 2 at E3 2015? Hope springs eternal.
