E3 2014: Shadow of Mordor may borrow ideas, but special twists make it wholly uniqueWritten by: / / 8 Comments
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is just one of many exciting looking games out in October this year, and word coming out of E3 this week from people who have played more than twenty minutes of the fantasy action game is that it’s shaping up incredibly well.
From the Batman-like combat to the Assassin’s Creed-esque traversal, Shadow of Mordor relentlessly borrows elements from other games and adds its own unique spin to them, while including an intriguing feature of its own with the ‘Nemesis’ system, where enemies remember their encounters with you and are forever changed by your influence.
Add to that an epic story set in Middle-earth and what appears to be super slick ‘ghostly’ powers for the game’s protagonist, Talion, and you’ve got the makings of something wholly unique, despite its familiar elements.
Learn a whole lot more about Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor with a great explanation of the Nemesis system below, along with a fantastic extended look at gameplay features, both paired with the latest set of screenshots to complete the E3 collection:
