E3 2014: The latest Fable Legends videos and screens may be familiar, but they’re no less magical

It was a little bizarre watching the latest showing of Microsoft and Lionhead Studios’ next Fable game, especially considering the discussion that followed. It all seemed very familiar, as though I had seen it all before… somewhere…

In fact I had seen it all before, at gamescom 2013 when I sat in on a demonstration of the Xbox One exclusive Fable Legends. The introduction of the four character classes, the co-operative multiplayer combat, the addition of a fifth ‘villain’ player that plays dungeon master by adding new enemies and challenges… everything was there, again, only looking a little sharper this time around.

I wrote up my impressions of Fable Legends last year (read my preview over here), but the fresh showcase during Microsoft’s E3 2014 press conference brought some good, welcome memories flooding back.

As it happens, you can watch a wonderful and rather magical trailer for Fable Legends right now, and catch the gameplay segment if you missed it earlier this week, with a batch of screenshots to finish off the feast – enjoy all of that below, and look out for the Xbox One beta later this year:
