Hyrule Warriors may have sounded like a peculiar concept when Nintendo unveiled the game in late 2013, but now that we’re barrelling closer to the large scale action game’s release on Wii U, and with the help of a new trailer and screenshots, it’s… still just as bizarre.
Hyrule Warriors is out on September 26th worldwide, exclusive to Wii U, putting you in the role of Link, Princess Zelda, Impa, Midna and other characters from the Legend of Zelda franchise as you hack, slash and destroy armies of on-screen enemies on your own, or with a friend thanks to the couch co-operative mode.
If you’re a Dynasty Warriors fan, the action will come naturally to you, but traditional Zelda fans might take a little while longer to warm up to the massive set-piece battles – please, take a look:
