Square Enix has announced that it’s currently developing an HD remaster of its epic PSP action RPG Final Fantasy Type-0 which was originally released in Japan in October 2011. The news comes just days after a dedicated group released a complete fan translation of the game which allowed players to enjoy Final Fantasy Type-0 in English for the first time.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be released for PS4 and Xbox One, and at this point it’s unclear whether it will be a download-only title or a full retail release.

The game’s director, Hajime Tabata, issued the following statement to accompany Square Enix’s announcement:

“We are pleased to announce that, due to the incredible outpouring of fan support, the localisation of Final Fantasy Type-0 is officially underway.

“Stay tuned for more details in the future and, in the meantime, hang on tight to your PS4 or Xbox One!”

Have you started playing the fan translation of Final Fantasy Type-0 yet or would you rather wait for the upcoming HD remaster before you get your game on? Let us know in the comments.
