Two new Mortal Kombat characters, story details and gameplay to be revealed at E3 2014

The gaming world was sent into a right flurry earlier this week with the formal announcement of Mortal Kombat X from NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive – a reveal that was accompanied by the game’s debut trailer featuring eternal rivals Sub-Zero and Scorpion engaging in… mortal combat.

There’s more Mortal Kombat excitement to come, however, if franchise co-founder is to be believed (and sometimes he is).


NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon piped up on Twitter recently to let fans know we’ll be seeing much more of Mortal Kombat X during E3 2014 next week, with two new Mortal Kombat characters and more due to be revealed. Boon wrote:

Since the release of the debut Mortal Kombat X trailer, the video has been viewed almost five million times on YouTube alone – seems as though Mortal Kombat fever is back and bigger than ever!

Mortal Kombat X is out in 2015 across Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Looking forward to it?
