Following the announcement that Ubisoft had secured the rights to develop console based versions of the immense block-based puzzle game franchise, Tetris, and as part of the thirtieth anniversary celebrations for the franchise, Tetris Ultimate has been announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Available later this year as a downloadable title, Tetris Ultimate will include six different game modes, namely Marathon, Endless, Ultra, Sprint, Battle and Power-Up Battle, and will allow up to four players to square off against one another, or form ‘battle teams’ for some co-operative play.

Social feeds are also promised meaning you’ll be kept up-to-date with your friends’ latest scores, while the ability to ‘capture and save your play style’ will also feature, meaning your friends can play against an approximation of you when you’re offline. Official leaderboards will keep track of the best players in the world, too.
