Forza Horizon 2 announced for Xbox One and Xbox 360Written by: / / 1 Comment
Microsoft and developer Playground Games have today taken the wraps off of Forza Horizon 2, a new game in the Forza spin-off series due for release in late 2014 for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
The news broke on IGN, where it was revealed that Playground is working with primary Forza series developer Turn 10 as the teams share personnel and technology, while also sharing the belief “that we can create a true home for racing fans on Xbox One,” says Horizon 2 creative director, Ralph Fulton.
This time set in Southern Europe (as opposed to the original Forza Horizon setting of Colorado), where we’ll see “amazing vistas” and enjoy “incredible diversity” as far as the sights are concerned, all taking place in and around a music festival which will be used as the central game’s theme.
IGN says that Forza Horizon 2 will include hundreds of cars, “headlined by the 2015 Lamborghini Huracán,” with the Drivatar AI system from Forza 5 and a weather system making an appearance, too. Other improvements and features are also promised, but we’ll find out a lot more during E3 2014 next week.
What did you think of the original Forza Horizon? Was it a welcome addition to the regular realistic racing themes that the Forza series is known for?
