New Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain trailer confirmed for E3, will depict “men descending into madness”

Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has confirmed that a new trailer for his studio’s upcoming title Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be shown during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (a.k.a. E3) next month. People who’ve played through Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will know that the game features at least one uncomfortably violent scene so they shouldn’t be surprised to learn that the new trailer will also be a tough watch.

Here’s what Kojima had to say on his Twitter feed about the game’s upcoming trailer (translated by JunkerHQ):

“Finished the mix. Like last year, this trailer contains no explosions, collapses, destruction, gunfights, car chases or people mobbed by reporters. Nor any zombies, aliens or giant spaceships. Just men descending into madness. A lot of fans said the 2013 GDC trailer was tough to watch. This one may be even tougher.”

My money’s on the new trailer being unveiled during Microsoft’s E3 press conference. When do you think it’ll be shown?

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is expected to touch down sometime next year on PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Head over here for El33tonline’s previous coverage of Metal Gear Solid V.
