PS4 and Xbox One to get free FIFA 14 game mode with Ultimate Team World Cup update

If you’re playing FIFA 14 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One and were disappointed that the 2014 World Cup themed version of the game wasn’t coming to your new console, then you’re probably going to end up on the better side of the deal because EA and EA Sports have announced a free game mode and Ultimate Team update for the new generation systems.


Due out on May 29th for all platforms, the free FIFA 14 Ultimate Team World Cup update brings with it all 32 teams involved in this year’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil, along with all of their official gear, the official adidas ball, the Estadio do Marcana stadium, and an “all new look and feel within FIFA 14 Ultimate Team.”

“With Online and Single Player tournament modes,” EA writes, “players can compete through the group stage and knockout phases in order to win the FIFA World Cup.”

In addition to the Ultimate Team update, a ‘FIFA World Cup Kick Off’ mode will be included in this week’s downloadable content for PS4 and Xbox One. Catch the announcement trailer for the new content below:
