Destiny will be the first PS4 game to support pre-loadingWritten by: / / 1 Comment
One of the major features introduced by PS4 system update 1.70 was the ability to pre-load games from the PlayStation Store so they would be downloaded and ready for you to play as soon as the game launched.
If you were hoping that next week’s big release Watch Dogs would be one of the games to support this feature then you’re out of luck as the PlayStation Knowledge Center has revealed that Destiny will be the first PS4 game to support pre-loading. As you can see from the image above, the game will be available to pre-load starting September 4th.
Here’s the relevant excerpt from the PlayStation Knowledge Center:
Pre-load pre-ordered content
Beginning with Destiny, certain pre-ordered titles can be automatically be pre-loaded prior to their release. This lets you rest easy knowing that your game will be ready for play the second its release date hits.
- Only titles designated as having pre-load functionality at the time of pre-order purchase can be pre-loaded.
- Pre-loading does not grant early access to the game; it simply loads it several days prior to its release so you’re able to play it on its release date.
- Automatic downloads must be enabled for your PS4 to pre-load your game. Follow the instructions in the section above for instructions on how to make sure this feature is enabled.
