Ubisoft has today officially announced Far Cry 4, which promises an adventure in Kyrat, a “breathtaking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas.”
Ubisoft says that Far Cry 4 will deliver “the most expansive and immersive” experience yet seen in the open-world action franchise, set in Kyrat in the Himalayas, which is currently “struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king.”
To get you through the journey, Far Cry 4 will provide you with “a vast array of weapons, vehicles, and animals” to use as you explore an “exotic open-world landscape.”
Executive Producer Dan Hay said of Far Cry 4:
“Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans’ expectations. Given the unique setting, we feel Far Cry 4 will stand out as a top first-person shooter and we’re eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months.”
Currently in development at Ubisoft Montreal, Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai, and Ubisoft Kiev, Far Cry 4 is due for release on November 18th in the US and November 21st in Europe and related regions, across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
