Third free Killzone: Shadow Fall multiplayer map now available, trailer and screens inside

One of Killzone: Shadow Fall’s notable features is that all the current and future multiplayer maps released for the game are available free of charge. The first map pack containing two new multiplayer arenas was released at the beginning of March and now Guerrilla Games has made a new map available called The Canyon.

The map is now available to download from the PlayStation Store and is described as follows:

“Situated deep within one of the Petrusite fissures scarring planet Helghan, The Canyon is all that remains of the once-stately palatial quarters in the city of Pyrrhus.

“Held in place by struts and bridges, this precariously balanced range of rock and crumbling infrastructure now serves a new purpose for the Helghast. Enormous mechanical pumps pierce the cityscape, syphoning the Petrusite that seeps up from the fissure to the surrounding mining spires.”

Interestingly, The Canyon multiplayer map introduces a new gameplay element with gravity wells positioned at various points around the arena. These wells consist of anomalous zones where the planet’s gravity field is severely distorted which allows players to reach higher ground by essentially falling upwards.

Here’s a trailer for the new map along with some screens:
