El33tonline Question of the Day

Chasing scores and racking up the highest number of points you could used to be the ultimate goal when playing games. Other than actually having fun, arcade games and a lot of titles through to the late nineties were score based and challenged players to reach the very top of the leaderboards.

While score based games aren’t quite as common as they used to be, there are still plenty of modern games that let you accumulate points for performance, but the question is, do you even take notice of the points?

What motivates you to score as many points in a game as you can? Are you personally motivated to improve on each run through a game or does the sight of your friends’ names on the leaderboards above you keep you going back again and again? Any favourite modern day score-based games to recommend?
