Call of Duty 2014 reveal due on May 4th, scrambled image appears on countdown siteWritten by: / / No Comments
Very soon we’ll be seeing a lot more of this year’s Call of Duty than a small snippet of an in-game image, because this Sunday, May 4th, we’re due for the official Call of Duty 2014 reveal.
Currently in the works at Sledgehammer Games as part of a three-year rotation between series stewards Infinity Ward and Treyarch, Call of Duty 2014 development is being led on new generation consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and judging by the game’s first image that work is paying off.
When the Call of Duty 2014 reveal happens on May 4th at 12pm Central Time / 10am Pacific, the game’s first trailer will be released which will no doubt be followed up by our first details for the game from Activision.
If you would like to countdown with the world until the announcement, you can visit the official site over here which is currently in the process of slowly unscrambling an image from the game.
Here’s what it looks like so far (click to enlarge):
What do you hope for from this year’s Call of Duty?
A new graphics engine seems to be a foregone conclusion at this point, but do you think Sledgehammer Games’ first full game in in the series will be a major departure for the franchise?
In the meantime, check out the game’s very first full-size screenshot to see the new levels of graphical fidelity being injected into the series (and get a few clues), and watch a trailer that very heavily points to the game’s subject matter involving private military corporations and the part they play in the world.
Also: Will Kevin Spacey play a villain in the game? It appears so.
