Plants VS Zombies Garden Warfare microtransactions available starting this weekWritten by: / / No Comments
Despite the fact that the game launched without paid downloadable content, and following the release of the second free DLC pack for the game, EA and Popcap Games will introduce microtransactions to Plants VS Zombies: Garden Warfare starting this week.
Writing on the official EA news blog, Plants VS Zombies: Garden Warfare producer Brian Lindley said that the development team is “really pleased and humbled to see how much players are enjoying the game,” and went on to point out all of the enhancements that players have received for free since launch earlier this year:
“And we’re not done,” Lindley continued, “there is more free content and updates coming to Garden Warfare in the future.”
This week, however, Garden Warfare players will be able to start purchasing coins from the game’s Sticker Shop, which give you “the ability to access new packs and character content more quickly – all the same content that can be earned through regular gameplay.”
This means that you can either continue to play and earn upgrades through playing the game, or if you’re a bit short on time you can get these upgrades and enhancements by buying them with real money.
“Again, thanks to all our Garden Warfare players for the support and feedback, and we’ll see you out on the Cactus Canyon golf course!” Lindley said.
What do you think of the addition of Plants VS Zombies Garden Warfare microtransactions? Would the game be better off without them to force players to play the game to get their upgrades, or are time saver packs alright with you?
