New Child of Light video explores the making of a modern fairytaleWritten by: / / No Comments
Ubisoft’s intriguing RPG platformer Child of Light is out next week and the publisher recently released a new ‘making of’ video exploring some of the inspirations and ideas behind this “playable poem”. The game’s writer Jeffrey Yohalem is no stranger to penning the story of major Ubisoft titles, having previously worked on Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Far Cry 3. In fact, Yohalem’s efforts earned him a Writers Guild of America Award for his work as lead writer of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood as well as Writers Guild of America Award and BAFTA Games Award nominations for Assassin’s Creed II.
One of the interesting motifs in Child of Light is the coming of age story of the game’s red-haired protagonist Aurora. She starts off her journey as a young girl but through the player’s actions of levelling her up she morphs into a woman with a firm grip on her own destiny.
Here’s the video:
Child of Light will be available for download on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Wii U and PC from April 30th for €14.99/£11.99/$14.99. Head over here for El33tonline’s previous coverage of this magical turn-based RPG.
