Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition available on disc in May

Following on from the rampant success of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition at retail (and the unstoppable world domination of Minecraft in general), developer Mojang has announced that Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition will soon become available on disc.


Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition is currently available for download on the PlayStation Store and has already been bought 1.5 million times, but starting May 14th in Europe and other PAL regions, the game will be heading to store shelves, meaning that “you can go into a real-life store, buy it with your country‚Äôs currency of choice, then take it home in a little bag,” Mojang’s Owen Hill wrote on the PlayStation Blog.

Hill also confirmed that work on the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita versions of Minecraft is still on-going. “Sorry for the delay,” said Hill, “but making Minecraft happen is serious business.”
