5 best-selling 3DS titles to receive permanent price cut from next week in North AmericaWritten by: / / No Comments
A criticism often levelled at games published on dedicated handhelds is their high price in relation to mobile titles, and 3DS games are no exception in this regard. With this in mind, Nintendo of America recently announced that five of the console’s best-selling and most popular titles will become more affordable from next week when their price is permanently reduced by twenty-five percent at retail and on the Nintendo eShop.
Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros. 2, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Mario Kart 7 and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D will all sell for a suggested retail price of $29.99 from April 22nd in North America. Nintendo says that these five games have sold more than nine million combined physical and digital copies in the US alone, and these permanent price reductions should help take this figure to over ten million during the next year or two.
We’ll update this article if Nintendo of Europe announces a similar initiative but right now these upcoming price cuts appear to be confined to North America.
