New trademark suggests Dragon Quest VIII mobile is headed WestWritten by: / / No Comments
Last December Square Enix released Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King for iOS and Android devices in Japan. The mobile port of this PlayStation 2 classic uses virtual controls and adopts a vertical orientation whether you’re exploring the wilderness or running around towns.
Now it seems as though the publisher is preparing to launch the mobile version of Dragon Quest VIII in the West after filing a new trademark for the game’s subtitle: “Journey of the Cursed King”. The original trademark expired on February 28th 2014 so it makes sense that Square Enix is filing a new one if it has any plans to release the game in the West in some form or another.
We’ll bring you more details about the mobile version of Dragon Quest VIII once Square Enix officially announces that it’s headed West.
