Titanfall cheaters banished to play with other frauds with new anti-cheat system

If you’re a cheater in Titanfall then you may have already found out the consequences of your actions, because Respawn Entertainment won’t be going lightly on anyone who thinks it’s fun to ruin the team’s game.

Using what Respawn calls ‘FairFight’ to detect cheaters in Titanfall on PC, the team has been collecting data on cheater behaviour and now as of last week, March 21st, anyone found to be cheating in the game will be banned and banished to their own special online gaming hell.

How do you know if you’re banned? Easy: If you load up into the game’s Private Lobby screen, this is what you’ll see:

Respawn is going slightly easy on cheaters, though, and even if you’re banned you still get to play Titanfall, although you will be placed in lobbies with other known cheaters. Respawn writes:

“You can play with other banned players in something that will resemble the Wimbledon of aimbot contests. Hopefully the aimbot cheat you paid for really is the best, or these all-cheater matches could be frustrating for you. Good luck.”

Hilarious imagery.

Respawn additionally makes it clear that if you’ve been labelled a cheater and you create a party that is joined by friends, those friends will temporarily be treated as banned players for the game session. “If you are a non-cheater and you invite a cheater friend into a party,” writes Respawn, “you will be stuck playing against cheaters.”

You can still try to get out of being banned if you think you’ve been unfairly identified as a cheater, but good luck with that.

We asked the same question with the reveal and clarification of Xbox One’s reputation system categories earlier this week, but it’s worth asking again:

Do you behave online or do you occasionally try to have a little fun at the expense of other players?
