Following the confirmation that Titanfall will be receiving paid post-launch downloadable content, as well as a season pass to bundle the DLC together to save some cash, Respawn Entertainment’s Vince Zampella has once again commented on the availability of extra game modes and whether or not we’ll be paying for them.

Speaking to Titanfall fans on Twitter, Zampella re-confirmed that there will be free features coming to the game alongside paid Titanfall DLC in the future. Answering a question about game modes, Zampella wrote:

While Zampella also confirmed that the upcoming DLC will be $10, when can we expect to see the first content drop for Titanfall?

The Future of Titanfall DLC

What do you hope to see from Titanfall DLC in the future? We can of course expect new maps (and it’s even been hinted at that the alien creatures seen on the ‘Boneyard’ map could become greater threats in these levels), but what about new titans? Speaking to IGN recently, community manager Abbie Heppe commented on the difficulty of balancing just the three available mechs:

“In order to [add a Titan] it takes so much balancing to make all the Titan abilities work with each other, and then against pilots. It’s a huge undertaking. Originally we just had the Atlas titans and then the team refused to add in the rest of the Titans until we were all sure that that one fitted perfectly with everything else in the game, so… I’m not announcing any new Titans right now!”

So should we not expect any new titans in the near future? Maybe they’re saving that for the sequel?
