Which “awesome Japanese studio” is working on a “unique” Xbox One exclusive?Written by: / / 3 Comments
Microsoft will continue to battle for the hearts and minds of Japanese gamers when the Xbox One becomes available in the country in September alongside other regions including South Africa, Russia and India, and the company once again looks set to invest in the work of Japanese developers to endear the console to local consumers.
During a talk at the recently concluded Game Developers Conference last week, Gamasutra’s Kris Graft spoke to Microsoft Phil Spencer in a wide-ranging talk discussing the future of traditionally funded Xbox LIVE ‘Arcade’ games, Valve’s Steam Machines, the overwhelming response to ID@Xbox and more.
One of the other topics, as reported by Famitsu, involved the mention of a Japanese developer that was making an Xbox One exclusive title – a game that would most likely first be revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2014:
“I’m very excited about the announcement of the release window in Japan. An unique exclusive title for Xbox One is going to be released by an awesome Japanese studio,” Spencer said during the GDC talk. “I’m looking forward to go to Tokyo Game Show this year, and I want to show everyone something never seen before. Stay tuned!”
Which Japanese studio do you think could be creating something “unique” for Xbox One – something that no-one has seen before? Do you think it’s a current developer, or a new studio? Perhaps a developer Microsoft has worked with before on Xbox 360?
