Debut Child of Light ‘making of’ video explores story and artWritten by: / / 1 Comment
We first caught wind of Child of Light in June last year when Ubisoft confirmed that Far Cry 3 Creative Director Patrick Plourde would give a talk at GDC Europe about this intriguing “playable poem” built on the highly versatile UbiArt Framework engine.
The game is now just a month away and Ubisoft recently released the first in a three-part behind-the-scenes video series exploring what Child of Light is all about. In the video below we learn about the driving force behind Aurora’s journey through the magical world of Lemuria, and see how the UbiArt Framework engine allows the team’s artists to literally drop concept art into Child of Light’s levels in order to achieve a beautiful painterly aesthetic that hasn’t really been explored in videogames before.
Here’s the video:
Child of Light will be available for download on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Wii U and PC from April 30th for €14.99/£11.99/$14.99. Head over here for El33tonline’s previous coverage of this magical turn-based RPG.
