Dark Souls II PC requirements revealed, older hardware supported

Last week Namco Bandai announced that the PC version of Dark Souls II will be released on April 25th via Steam and other digital distribution channels. PC players with decent rigs will benefit from increased texture resolution and an enhanced frame rate compared to the console version of Dark Souls II, and the publisher recently revealed what kind of hardware you’ll need to play the game at its lowest and highest graphical settings.

Here are Dark Souls II’s minimum and recommended requirements in full:

Minimum Requirements

  • OS: Windows XP SP3, Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8
  • CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 555 3.2Ghz or Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo E8500 3.17Ghz
  • Memory: 2GB RAM
  • Video Card: NVIDIAGeForce 9600GT, ATI Radeon HD 5870
  • DirectX: Version 9.0c
  • Free Hard Drive Space: 14GB

Recommended Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 SP1
  • CPU: Intel CoreTM i3 2100 3.10GHz or AMD A8 3870K 3.0GHz
  • Memory: 4GB RAM
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465 or higher, ATI Radeon HD 6870 or higher
  • DirectX: Version 9.0c
  • Free Hard Drive Space: 14GB

Dark Souls II will be released over the next few days on March 11th in the US and March 14th in European territories for PS3 and Xbox 360. The PC version will launch next month on April 25th.
