Originally announced at a traditionally raucous Ubisoft press conference at E3, Trials Fusion has received an April release date accompanied by a fresh batch of screenshots and an all-new (rather exciting) features trailer.

Trials Fusion will become available starting April 16th on digital platforms on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC for $19.99 / £15.99, with a physical retail release available starting April 18th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. In North America at least, the disc-based versions of the game will retail for $39.99 and will include the season pass to access new content.

Outside of North America, however, the season pass will be available for purchase for £15.99, which nets players six downloadable content packs to become available from launch until April 30th, 2015, which Ubisoft points out represents of saving of 30 percent should you purchase each DLC pack individually, eventually giving you more tracks, bike parts, rider gear and new items.

Notably, a PlayStation 3 version of Trials Fusion hasn’t been announced.

But let’s pump the brakes for a second… what exactly is Trials Fusion?

Following on from the challenging puzzle platform racing games from Redlynx including Trials HD and Trials Evolution, Trials Fusion has been created in collaboration with Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Kiev, and promises to provide players with “an unlimited array of obstacles and challenges,” with both familiar gameplay challenges and mini-games combined with all-new features (including an ‘FMX’ tricks system), once again tasking you with beating your friends’ race scores and setting records of your own on the global leaderboards.

You’ll also once again be able to create your own tracks that “stretch your imagination and skill,” with the option to share your creations online – check out the latest trailer for Trials Fusion and let us know if you’ll be white-knuckling your way through it this April:
