Following reports that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is only two hours long, and a rebuttal by Hideo Kojima and his assistant claiming such reports were false, Konami has announced a price drop for the open-world action game ahead of launch.
According to Konami, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions of the game will now become available for $29.99 in the US and £29.99 in the UK each (as opposed to $39.99 / £39.99 previously), which is in line with the game’s price on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The digital versions of the game on the older consoles remains at $19.99 / £19.99, while the digital versions of the game on PS4 and Xbox One remain at $29.99 / £29.99.
The price change, says Konami “aims to provide as many people as possible an opportunity to experience” Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on new generation platforms.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be released for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on March 18th in North America and March 20th in European territories.
