Confirmed: A new Tony Hawk game is in the worksWritten by: / / 2 Comments
The gaming world more or less came to the general consensus that the last two Tony Hawk skating games were… kind of disastrous. Using a skateboard peripheral with which to perform tricks in the games, Tony Hawk’s RIDE and Tony Hawk’s SHRED (released in 2009 and 2010 respectively) were not only poorly received critically but commercially as well, more or less spelling the end for the Tony Hawk series.
The release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD in 2012 gave fans a glimmer of hope that Activision was almost ready to give the franchise another go, but now almost two years later there’s still nothing to report… until now.
- Tony Hawk: RIDE
During a chat with Tony Hawk in an interview on what IGN describes as “his Demolition Radio show on SiriusXM,” ‘The Birdman’ uttered the following words:
“We’re working on a game, we are working on a game, it’s pretty cool.”
After that bit of news slipped out (or perhaps was intentionally spoken), Activision sent IGN a statement on the matter, which reads:
“Activision can confirm that they have something in the works with Tony Hawk, more info is coming soon.”
Exciting news for Tony Hawk skating fans, but what do you want to see from a new game in the series? Should Activision revisit this classic franchise?
