What’s Titanfall like on Xbox 360? It’s “coming along really well”

With under a month to go until launch, and following a flurry of excitement during the recently concluded online beta test, we’ve been made fully aware that Titanfall running on Xbox One and PC is a superb, smooth and frenetic experience

If you don’t believe us (and our hands-on preview), then the below-appearing TV advert will go some ways to convincing you that Titanfall is worth watching out for:

But what about the Xbox 360 version of the shooter?

While Titanfall looks to run perfectly well on Xbox One, the vast majority of the console gaming audience won’t have a chance to play on Microsoft’s new console, and with tens of millions of Xbox 360s in households around the world it’s in the best interests of EA, Respawn Entertainment and Bluepoint Games to deliver the very best game possible on the older machine.

Following a delay of the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall, effectively pushing back the launch of this version by two weeks past that of the Xbox One and PC editions, there might have been some concern in the gaming populace surrounding Bluepoint’s iteration of the shooter. To clear up these concerns, Respawn Entertainment producer Drew McCoy recently piped up on NeoGAF to assuage your fears, writing:

“Oh, and for all the speculation going on about the 360 version. Its coming along really well, Bluepoint is full of phenomenally talented devs. We (being Respawn) have been pushing for them to have all the time they need to make it as good as possible, which means extra time for them to polish it up. We’d all like it to be day and date, but a better game a few weeks later is better than an unfinished one earlier.”

That’s certainly good to know, but since the game’s announcement it seems as though Titanfall has become known as an Xbox One game first and foremost, despite the fact that it’ll be available on three platoforms.

Will you be playing Titanfall on Xbox 360, sight unseen, or are you looking to see more of the game running on the ageing console before you commit to this version?

Titanfall is out on Xbox One and PC on March 11th in North America, March 13th in Europe and March 14th in the UK. The Xbox 360 version is out on March 25th in North America, and March 28th in the UK and Europe following a delay.
