Mandatory PS4 firmware update 1.61 now availableWritten by: / / 3 Comments
Sony has released a new firmware update for PS4 which is said to improve “system software stability” during use of some of the console’s features. Firmware 1.61 is mandatory meaning that you won’t be able to sign into the PlayStation Network until you update your system.
If your PS4 is set to automatically download system updates while in standby mode then the new firmware will be ready to install the next time you turn on your console. If you’d rather download the update manually then you can do so by visiting Sony’s dedicated PS4 firmware website.
Have you found PS4 firmware updates to be less of a hassle than they were on PS3? Let us know in the comments.
