There are a lot of games based on ancient myths and legends that developers either use as a backdrop for the adventure, and sometimes (as in the case of Uncharted) the story is based on real historical events but is then twisted with more fantastical elements.

Do you ever further investigate the legends, myths and history that games are based upon?

I remember becoming very interested in the Aztecs and ancient South American civilizations (… and the alien conspiracies surrounding them, too) after playing the Tex Murphy FMV adventure games (specifically The Pandora Directive after Under a Killing Moon).
