Report: The voice of Master Chief confirms Halo 2 Anniversary EditionWritten by: / / 2 Comments
Two weeks ago, an anonymous tipster went on a rumour and speculation release rampage spilling a bunch of supposed secrets on Microsoft’s future plans for the Halo series, release dates for Xbox One games, and a few morsels on new versions of the Xbox One to come in the future.
Of course, Microsoft has neither confirmed nor denied any of the rumoured news items (most – if not all – of which sound pretty legitimate), but has instead set on a campaign to root out the tipster and take legal action.
As that battle continues, one of the rumours has seemingly been confirmed by Halo and Master Chief voice actor, Steve Downes, who said in an interview with Gamezone that we can expect an anniversary edition of Halo 2 in 2014, but anything called ‘Halo 5’ is still far off:
“I think you may be ahead of yourself on Halo 5,” Downes told Gamezone. “I wouldn’t expect anything until 2015. What you can look forward to this year is an anniversary edition of Halo 2.”
The rumour goes that Halo 2 Anniversary Edition is currently in development at previous Halo partners Saber Interactive and Certain Affinity, with the game due for release on November 11th, 2014. The Xbox One package will include a higher definition version of the original Xbox game, as well as a beta entry to the next Halo, also on Xbox One.
We’ve previously been promised that our “next Halo journey WILL begin in 2014,” but it was never specified which Halo we would get this year, despite the fact that it was widely believed to be an all-new entry to the series on Xbox One.
Which version of Halo do you think we’ll get here in 2014?
