Jessica Chobot interviews the Titanfall dev team to discuss the game’s humble beginnings

Following the reveal of Titanfall from Respawn Entertainment and EA, the gaming world almost universally erupted in praise for the mech-based military shooter, but the development team behind it all wasn’t always so sure that anyone would like the game, nor were they convinced that it would ever get made.

After being forced to exit Infinity Ward, co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella immediately set to work building a new development studio and convinced Infinity Ward employees to join them in their venture, but the first few months of Respawn Entertainment’s existence wasn’t at all glitzy or glamorous, with team members working out of an abandoned studio space without computers to work on or technology to to use.

Titanfall is out on Xbox One and PC on March 11th in North America, March 13th in Europe and March 14th in the UK. The Xbox 360 version is out on March 25th in North America, and March 28th in the UK and Europe.

A beta test for Xbox One and PC has also been announced, while the Xbox 360 version of the full game has been delayed.
