El33t’s Question of the Day: What’s the optimum time between episode releases in an episodic series?Written by: / / 4 Comments

With the release of The Wolf Among Us: Episode 2 yesterday and today after months of waiting, this latest Question of the Day was suggested by El33tonline’s own Tom, who wants to know what you think the optimum time between releases of episodes in an episodic series is:
“I personally feel that Telltale leaves way too long of a gap between episodes – the interest that was piqued by the end of the first The Wolf Among Us episode has waned by now to a large extent,” says Tom.
While the time between Episode 1 and Episode 2 of The Wolf Among Us is nothing as bad as Valve’s efforts with the Half-Life 2 episodes, Telltale has a lot of work to do in order to get these releases consistent. With Episode 2, specifically, Telltale says that development has been “a struggle,” so here’s hoping the team has overcome these challenges and can deliver more episodes sooner in the future.
Does a longer wait for episodes in a series detract from your anticipation for the next game, or make you want it even more? Should episodes be released monthly, fortnightly or more regularly?
