Following an extensive beta test period, development studio Wargaming has today announced that the company’s highly successful massively multiplayer online action game, World of Tanks, will finally become available as a full downloadable release next week around the world, February 12th, as an console exclusive on Xbox 360.
Requiring an Xbox LIVE Gold account to play, World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition is a free-to-play game and includes over one hundred iconic tanks from three different nations, namely the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany – with more tanks, nations and features planned to be included with upcoming downloadable content.
In-game purchases will allow you to expand the content further with the option to buy premium tanks, consumables and premium accounts “to boost experience and currency accrual rates.”
Developed by Wargaming West (formerly Day 1 Studios), World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition is said to have been custom built for Xbox 360 and features “revamped controls, matchmaking, a new user interface and other features to take advantage of the Xbox 360’s technological capabilities and online features.”
