Killzone: Shadow Fall sells over 2 million units in 2 monthsWritten by: / / 6 Comments
Since the launch of the PlayStation 4 in North America on November 15th, the console’s exclusive first-person shooter, Killzone: Shadow Fall, has sold in excess of two million units worldwide, Sony announced today.
Counting sales of both the physical retail copy of the game and the digital copy over PlayStation Network, and as of January 15th, 2014, Shadow Fall has managed to reach 2.1 million PS4 owners – President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, enthused:
“I am thrilled that so many users have been enjoying Killzone: Shadow Fall since the launch of PS4. This title fully embraces the creativity of the development team at Guerrilla Games based in the Netherlands, and is a perfect representation of what SCE WWS has to offer.”
Sony took the chance to remind us that Guerrilla is currently working on a full multiplayer expansion to Killzone: Shadow Fall, as well as two free multiplayer maps. We’ll get release dates for this downloadable content soon.
Only two months after launch, selling 2.1 million units of a console exclusive game available only on a brand new system is very impressive, and although these numbers will include copies of the game in special PS4/Killzone bundles that shouldn’t take away from the achievement.
