New Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII trailer showcases revamped battle systemWritten by: / / 3 Comments
Despite the criticisms levelled at the Final Fantasy XIII sub-series, many fans of Square Enix’s signature franchise agree that its fast-paced battle system was well implemented and gave players plenty of breathing space to execute a variety of strategies.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will further expand on FFXIII and FFXIII-2’s battle mechanics by borrowing elements of the Dressphere system from Final Fantasy X-2 and giving players greater control of Lightning’s movements on the battlefield. The game will also feature deeper customisation options which not only affect Lightning’s look but also the range of offensive and defensive abilities she can employ during battle.
On this note, Square Enix recently unveiled a new trailer showcasing some of the ways in which the game’s battle system has evolved compared to previous FFXIII titles. Take a look below:
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be released for PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 11th in North America and February 14th in European territories.
