If you haven’t already got enough Tetris across almost every platform in existence, then you’ll be pleased to know that Ubisoft and The Tetris Company have signed a partnership to bring the timeless classic puzzle game to both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in the future as a digitally distributed title.

Managing director of The Tetris Company, Henk B. Rogers, said of the deal:

“We welcome Ubisoft to the Tetris family. I am 100% sure they will develop one of the best versions of the Tetris game ever.”

Ubisoft took the opportunity to remind us that the Tetris franchise is celebrating its 30th anniversary here in 2014 and has already sold “hundreds of millions of units worldwide” across over 50 different platforms since the game first appeared way back in 1984. Ubisoft co-founder and CEO, Yves Guillemot, remarked:

“We’re very excited to start working with this world-renowned brand, and can’t wait to combine Ubisoft’s expertise and all the capacities of next-gen consoles to create an exciting new Tetris experience for fans.”
