Toukiden: The Age of Demons gets ferocious new screens, out next month on PS VitaWritten by: / / 3 Comments
In the absence of a native Monster Hunter game for PS Vita, similar titles such as Soul Sacrifice and Tecmo Koei’s upcoming release Toukiden: The Age of Demons have benefited from players’ desire to slay ferocious beasts alongside their friends.
Toukiden has already sold over half a million copies in Japan since launching there last June for both PS Vita and PSP, and although it will only be released for PS Vita in the West it looks poised to be a success based on its attractive visual style and compelling co-op quests.
According to the game’s official description, Toukiden is influenced by Japanese history and mythology and casts players in the role of a demon-fighting ‘Slayer’. You’ll start the game at your Utakata Village headquarters where you can accept quests and venture forth alone or with other players to battle monstrous and deadly demons (Oni) before they fulfil their inherent desire to destroy all of humanity.
Tecmo Koei recently confirmed that the game will be released at retail and as a digital download on February 11th in North America and February 14th in PAL territories. The publisher also shared some new screenshots for the English version of Toukiden which you can view below:
