Do you play Quake LIVE? It’s now available as a standalone client for freeWritten by: / / 1 Comment
Previously only available as a browser-based free-to-play game, the excellent Quake LIVE has now been repackaged and re-released as a downloadable standalone client.
Thanks to the switch in delivery method, Bethesda Softworks says that the development team can now “dedicate more time to updating in-game features without the worry of how ever-evolving web browsers will affect gameplay and performance,” which no doubt took an immense amount of time and testing.
Best of all, Quake LIVE remains free-to-play for anyone who wants to give it a try, with Premium and Pro subscriptions still available to access more content and features. In addition, Bethesda seems very excited to announce that Pro players are now able to host matches for standard players across all seven of the Premium game modes.
Bethesda released an extensive FAQ for current and future Quake LIVE players to answer any questions you might have, but if you’re a fan of fast-paced arena shooters make your way to the Quake LIVE website, register and download the client to get playing.
