Would you play Mafia 3? 2K Czech has been consolidated with project progress unknownWritten by: / / 2 Comments
After a quick-fire round of reports, 2K Games has confirmed that 2K Czech has been consolidated down to a single studio developer, with some members of the team to be transferred. In a statement, a 2K representative wrote to Eurogamer:
“We have relocated and consolidated our 2K Czech team from our Prague facility to centralise resources in our location in Brno. Additionally, we are transferring some development resources from Prague and Brno to 2K headquarters in Novato, CA.”
“This transition will both strengthen the integration of the 2K Czech team with our award winning development teams, and better align cross-functional business practices. As part of this realignment, we are adjusting our staffing levels, resulting in the elimination of some positions.”
2K Czech’s previous game, Mafia 2, showcased the studio’s technical prowess but was ultimately a very linear open-world action game with not a whole lot to do in the beautifully created city.
With Mafia 3 reported to be in development and due for release on new generation consoles, would you give 2K Czech another chance to take a crack at GTA V for the open-world action game crown?
