Killzone: Mercenary developer hiring for “major future project”Written by: / / No Comments
After the success of Guerrilla Cambridge’s PS Vita exclusive Killzone: Mercenary you’d think that the studio would be happy to work on another first-person shooter for the handheld. However, a couple of advertised vacancies at the Sony-owned developer suggest that Guerrilla Cambridge’s next project could be for the PlayStation 4 and utilise Guerrilla’s in-house engine which has evolved alongside the Killzone series.
A job posting for a Senior Environment Artist calls for applicants to “demonstrate PS3/PS4 quality texturing” and have “development experience on recent AAA console games” while a listing for a Senior Graphics Programmer requires the successful applicant to “maintain and push forward existing visual effects technologies within an established rendering engine, on a major future project.”
At no point in either advert does it mention applicants needing previous experience developing for the PS Vita or other handheld devices, so it’s safe to say that Guerrilla Cambridge’s next game will appear on either PS3 or PS4, or perhaps even both platforms.
What kind of game do you hope Guerrilla Cambridge is working on next? Let us know in the comments.
