Call of Duty: Ghosts online services at ‘Defcon 4’ – can you connect?Written by: / / 1 Comment
It’s the beginning of a new year and, as expected, videogame news is a touch low on the ground. Don’t you judge me.
In the midst of reports of hacking groups claiming responsibility for taking down online services including PlayStation Network, Steam, Origin, Battle.net and even League of Legends, it appears as though Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Ghosts may be experiencing some technical troubles of its own.
At the moment, and according to the game’s online status tracker, Ghosts is currently sitting at ‘Defcon 4,’ one step down from Defcon 5 which denotes that “All online services are fully operational.” Level 4 of the tracker, however, means the following:
“All online services are fully operational, but brief interruptions may occur due to service maintenance or issues at external service providers.”
Multiplayer focussed games such as Call of Duty undergo regular maintenance and receive patches from time to time, so it may just be a case of Infinity Ward doing a bit of housekeeping today – we’ve sent out a request for more information.

Are you able to connect to Call of Duty: Ghosts online on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One without hassles? Or is the service currently unavailable to you?
