Ster Kinekor Entertainment committed to meeting PS4 demand in South AfricaWritten by: / / 4 Comments
If you didn’t know before, you’ll certainly have realised by now that the PlayStation 4 has finally arrived in South Africa following highly successful launches in North America, Europe and Australasia.
Demand for Sony’s latest home console has been incredible around the world after being named the ‘largest console launch in history’ and handily outselling its competitors in the US in November, but according to Ster Kinekor Entertainment CEO Mario Dos Santos, demand for the PS4 in South Africa, too, has been “unprecedented.”
“It has been an exciting time for all of us at Ster Kinekor Entertainment,” Dos Santos wrote in a statement “and after the successful launches across United States and Canada we could not be any more proud to be introducing the PlayStation 4 to our region today. PS4 has been designed with gamers at its heart, and it is the PlayStation fans that help make these occasions so memorable.”
Demand has so far outstripped supply in South Africa and other regions, but Dos Santos promises that Ster Kinekor is up to the task of delivering the PS4 to eager customers as soon as possible, saying that the South African distributor has been “overwhelmed by the unprecedented demand for PS4″ but that they are “committed to try and meet those demands.”
