H33rsay: Possible Fallout 4 setting discovered in script for voice actor casting callWritten by: / / 1 Comment
To the surprise of only a very small percentage of the world’s gaming population, the Survivor2299.com teaser site was announced to be an elaborate hoax on the part of Fallout fan, but the excitement surrounding the countdown clock ticking down to its eventual reveal was palpable as many were expecting something related to the formal unveiling of Fallout 4.
Developer Bethesda Softworks has never announced anything beyond what it was working on at the time (namely The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, its content updates and many patches), but did say that the studio has officially moved on from its work on Skyrim on to its next project, which in April 2013 was “at the point where it requires the studio’s full attention to make it our biggest and best work yet.”
Bethesda’s next big game is widely believed to be Fallout 4 following on from the immense success and following enjoyed by Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, and now with a new generation of consoles to take advantage of, the team would be able to craft some amazing post-apocalyptic worlds to adventure through and enemies for us to face off against through for hundreds of hours.
But, there’s the small detail of not having been formally, officially announced, so when small scraps of clues come along that point to a possible new Fallout game, we’ll grab them with both hands and genetically modified prehensile feet, too.
The clues in question come from Kotaku who recently came into the possession of a script for a voice actor casting call. The script itself makes no mention of Fallout, but does allude to elements in the Fallout universe while also being very familiar in tone. In addition, the casting director for this script was also attached to Bethesda projects like Dishonored and Skyrim.
According to Kotaku, the script also mentions Boston which could be where the next Fallout game is set. You can see portions of the script and Kotaku’s analysis over here.
Can the next Fallout game not arrive soon enough for you, or would you prefer Bethesda work on another Elder Scrolls game? Are you still navigating the wastes of Fallout 3?
