Harmonix has confirmed that the studio has let go “a small number” of employees recently following reports pointing to a new round of lay-offs at the Dance Central and Rock Band developer. In a statement to the press, a Harmonix spokesperson wrote:
“We can confirm that a small number of Harmonix employees were let go today. This decision was made due to shifting staffing priorities for Harmonix’s multiple future projects.”
The only future project that is publicly known is the Xbox One and Xbox 360 Kinect-drive game, Fantasia: Music Evolved (read our preview), while up to three original intellectual properties are currently in development. According to the statement, 150 employees remain at Harmonix.
