No, Fallout 4 won’t be at VGX 2013 but that doesn’t mean it’s not realWritten by: / / 7 Comments
For the last few weeks a mysterious countdown website, The Survivor 2299, has been ticking away towards December 11th. What will happen when the timer runs out is anybody’s guess, but given the theme of the translated messages that have begun to appear on the site recently it’s widely believed that we’re in for an announcement of Fallout 4 by Bethesda Softworks.
Of course, this is pure speculation and Bethesda itself has neither confirmed nor denied the authenticity of the site. It was also widely believed that we would get a teaser for Fallout 4 at this year’s version of the Spike TV Video Game Awards, VGX 2013, but Bethesda’s Pete Hines has confirmed there will be nothing from the company shown at the event.
Hines wrote on Twitter recently, saying:
No, folks. I am not going to VGX. Bethesda is not showing/talking about anything at VGX. Just some PR meetings in LA. Take deep breaths.

This is an unfortunate setback for Fallout fans, but it doesn’t mean that Fallout 4 doesn’t exist, or that it won’t be announced in the near future. VGX 2013 takes place this Saturday, December 7th, while the countdown clock on the mystery website goes beyond that date, after all.
What do you believe? Is the teaser site authentic and will we see the announcement of Fallout 4 before 2013 is over? Or is there still a ways to go until we get a confirmation of the game?
