H33rsay: Is Crash Bandicoot back at Sony?
The Crash Bandicoot series clearly has a special place in many PlayStation fans’ hearts as the PSone games regularly make an appearance on the monthly PSN charts we report on.
Evidence is slowly mounting that the Crash Bandicoot IP is back with Sony for the first time in thirteen years. On November 14th Sony released a PS4 launch advert featuring the image of Crash on a street sign (seen above) and now Activision – the most recent owner of the Crash Bandicoot IP – has seemingly taken down the official website for the series and removed all references to Crash Bandicoot from its main website.
If Crash Bandicoot is indeed back in the hands of Sony then the questions become which studio is developing the next game in the series, which platform will it appear on, and when will Sony reveal where the franchise is headed next?
Hopefully we’ll be able to bring you the answers to all these questions sooner rather than later!
